Spotify is adding APPS!

The Social Networking site Spotify is now launching apps for its users.  These apps will be similar in function to Facebook's apps in the respect that the site shows reccomendations for apps,  shows contacts who are using the apps and, as a selling point, the company is opening the app store to independent app programmers.  Much like Apple, Spotify will have to approve each app but in the long run it will make the site more popular because of the variety of apps.

Modern Warfare 3, Enough Said

Call of Duty (CoD) Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) has destroyed many sales records for sales within the first five days of release.  It has topped out at around $755 Million, give or take a million or two.  It has smashed every video game record for sales and as smashed movies as well.  It has lost only to James Cameron's Avatar in first days of availability.  Avatar got 2.8 Billion in sales its lifetime in the theaters so MW has a long way to go

Microsoft is overdoing the US patent situation

Barnes and Noble announced that there were multiple charges of excessive royalties payed to Microsoft for the right to the Android smartphone.  This was seen as an attempt to drive companies out of business because of the rising prices needed to pay these royalties.  Microsoft is now suing Barnes and Noble, claiming that their Nook infringes on at least 5 patents made within the last decade by Microsoft.  Microsoft also entered a deal between Nokia, itself and MOSAID.  The agreement was made that, because of Nokia and Microsoft combined, MOSAID gained control of 2000 patents.  The only price in this matter is the fact that 2/3 of profit revenue from these new devices goes to Microsoft and Nokia, respectively.
